Video: Journey to Easter - Third Sunday of Lent

In this third week of our Journey to Easter, Fr. Carl Schlichte reflects on the Gospel of the Woman at the Well and the deep thirst of the human heart.

For many adult children of divorce or separation, it can be difficult to let others, and even God, into the wounded places of our hearts. Like the Samaritan woman, we may carry shame, isolation, or walls built to protect ourselves. Yet Jesus meets us precisely there, thirsting for our faith and longing to offer us living water.

In this reflection, Fr. Carl invites us to:

  • Recognize where we may be keeping Jesus at a distance

  • Allow Him into the deepest wounds of our hearts

  • Receive the love and healing He desires to give us

May this Lenten reflection help you open your heart more fully to Christ’s healing presence.

Reflection Questions for Small Groups or Individuals

  1. In what parts of my life do I grumble and complain against God?

  2. What are the wounds I am most afraid of showing to Jesus? Where is He thirsting for my faith? How do I keep God and others away from this tender spot?

  3. Given the healing I have experienced, where and to whom can I share Jesus’ Good News?
