“The Life-Giving Wounds retreat is a pilgrimage. A sacred journey. There is a logic to the retreat. A process. It can't be rushed. I came just as I was to the beginning of it, but by the end I found myself standing on very different ground. Looking back over my retreat weekend I can see that through the vulnerability of sharing my story I was open to hearing and receiving the proclamation of the Lord's suffering, death, and resurrection in a way that poured healing love into the wound in my heart caused by my parents’ divorce. I used to resent certain aspects of my story. I don't anymore. In fact, they have become very precious to me. For it is there, in the place of my wounding, that I discovered One who loves me in a way that I did not know was possible. I can say with confidence that it is true, wounds can in fact become life giving.”

“I loved the retreat! It was challenging but in a very beautiful way. I did benefit spiritually from it – allowing me to recognize that I don’t have to fix the wounds by myself, but Jesus heals them through His own.”

“The community of people with a shared experience was absolutely necessary for my growth and healing. Also the wisdom attained from the talks, sacraments available, etc. made this the most important retreat of my life.”

“This retreat was such a beautiful experience! The retreat team is so humble and caring. Obviously parts of the retreat were painful but everything pointed to understanding that pain and healing with God’s grace. There really are not words that describe it perfectly, it was amazing.” –

“While the retreat was very difficult because of the topic and the memories, it was also very healing to see the community – to see that there are other people out there who have been similarly wounded, and it’s not just me. It was incredibly beautiful.”

“Profoundly beautiful – a gift from the Lord! This was a wonderful retreat with an experienced and prayerful retreat team that combined years of practical experience with genuine hearts for the Lord. The sincerity of the team and their desire to form true community and to know the participants was touching and allowed for the kind of vulnerability that was needed for the weekend.”

“I am so glad I came because for the first time I was able to talk about something that has been bothering me for years without hearing from others ‘Oh, I’d just let that roll off my shoulders.’ Being with others who have experienced the same wound and the same aftermath made me feel like I wasn’t crazy anymore.”
