Video: Journey to Easter - First Sunday of Lent - 2026

Welcome to the First Sunday of Lent.

In this reflection, Fr. Carl meditates on the intimacy of God in the second creation account. He connects this powerful image to the Gospel of Jesus’ temptation in the desert, reminding us that being beloved does not mean being free from struggle. As we begin Lent, may we remember:

  • We are intimately created and deeply loved

  • Temptation and struggle are part of the human story

  • God is present within our wounds

Reflection Questions for Small Groups or Individuals

  1. How do I experience intimacy with God? With others?

  2. How are temptations manifested in my life?

  3. How can my healing journey as an ACOD help me to combat my temptations to sin? To downplay God’s love for me?
