Reaching the berry patch, Grandmother sat down under a great oak tree, claiming she needed a rest after the long walk. She invited Lucy to join her. Again, Lucy acquiesced, at first sitting stiffly next to her grandmother and then slowly snuggling close and laying her head on Grandmother’s shoulder.
